A while ago I wrote about how Eeyore could be seen displaying fits of optimism from time to time and said I would mention more examples in the future. Well, it's now the future, and tonight we get another example. "Pooh's found the North Pole," said Christopher Robin. "Isn't that lovely?" Pooh looked modestly down. "Is that it?" said Eeyore. "Yes," said Christopher Robin. "Is that what we were looking for?" "Yes," said Pooh. "Oh!" said Eeyore. "Well, anyhow--it didn't rain," he said. This could be viewed as extreme sarcasm on his part, or as making the best out of a bad situation. Recall that Eeyore was none too happy about being dragged along on the expotition in the first place, having to clear out all Rabbit's friends and relations every time he wanted to stop and sit down, having his lunch sat upon, and standing with his tail in the stream until it nearly froze off while Pooh was discovering the Pole, all making for less than a wonderful day. Then he finds out that they came all that way and went through all that for a stick. Yet rather than get irate, complain, or something appropriate, he turns around and points out that at least it didn't rain. May we all follow his example. Peace. ______ ______ _________________________________________________ / ____ \| __ \ | | \_| |__| | "It's Christopher Robin," he said. | | _| ___ / "Ah, then you'll be all right," said Piglet. | |___/ | | \ \ "You'll be quite safe with him..." \______/|_| \_\_________________________________________________
