Every once in a while, some character from the Pooh stories will say something that can be a profound metaphor for life and I wonder how I missed it after all these years and all these many times reading it. The one I'm going to share this evening is no exception. Usually, I'm too busy laughing at Eeyore, but for whatever reason, this jumped out at me tonight. Perhaps because, metaphorically speaking, I'm at the "bottom of the river". And as usual, Eeyore has a very pragmatic way of looking at and dealing with things: "I didn't stop to ask, Pooh. Even at the very bottom of the river I didn't stop to say to myself, 'Is this a Hearty Joke, or is it the Merest Accident?' I just floated to the surface, and said to myself, 'It's wet.' If you know what I mean."
